Although autumn is coming and the weather is changing, on our side everything is stable. We are still negotiating the last part of the contract. The government’s latest offer did not allow us to operate properly, so we were forced to reject it.
This does not mean that the negotiations are over. On the contrary, we are still working very hard to reach an agreement that will benefit everyone, including our residents.
At this time, we prefer not to set a timetable. It is impossible for us to predict when this journey will end, but that does not shake our trust in our partners.
We will keep you updated with the latest news as soon as we have information.

We will vaccinate our residents next week (Monday, October 23rd) for flu and COVID-19 vaccines.
If you did not have a chance to sign the consent form, you can authorize the vaccination by phone with the nurse.
You can expect our residents to be a little under the weather next Monday; don’t be alarmed.
Fever and fatigue are common side effects of both vaccines.
There is no counter indication to administrate both vaccines at the same time.
You can get more information on the government’s site
Thank you for your collaboration
We would like to reassure our clients regarding the strike mandates in the health sector. As we are still a private establishment, our employees are not affiliated with the government’s collective agreement and therefore their union is not part of the group that will soon go on strike.
The planned actions and strikes from the government’s health care system employees will have no impact on the dispensation of services at the Château Westmount. Just so you know, our collective agreement does not expire until 2026.
So, no need to worry.
Last week we held our day of thanks to our employees.
During the party, a BBQ specially prepared for them, was available in the garden.
The exceptional quality of care and services provided at Château Westmount can only be explained in one way… We are fortunate to have the best and most dedicated employees. Everyone who works here cares about the health and well-being of our residents.
“There is no limit to the recognition we can express and the thanks we can give.” – Norman Rickard
Last week, we took advantage of Employees’ Day to recognize the contribution of two very special employees. Indeed, this year we were heartbroken when Cecilia (photo) and Mary-Ann announced our retirement.
Unfortunately, Mary-Ann could not be present, but we took advantage of Cecilia’s presence to show her our affection and wish her good luck in her retirement.
Thank you both for all these beautiful years dedicated to the well-being of the residents of the Château.
We would like to remind everybody about the Thanksgiving buffet that will be held on October 8th.
Places are limited so hurry to reserve your places. You can register at the reception. The menu will be displayed there as well.
