Due to an increase in cases of COVID on the 5th floor, the unit is closed for an undetermined period of time.
Residents are confined to the floor. To limit moving residents in the facility.
Meals will be taken on the floor.
Activities are suspended.
Visitors and staff members must wear masks at all times.
Hand washing must be reinforced.

The management
During this festive period when gatherings are frequent, we ask that you pay special attention to the guidelines below.
We will vaccinate our residents next week (Monday, October 23rd) for flu and COVID-19 vaccines.
If you did not have a chance to sign the consent form, you can authorize the vaccination by phone with the nurse.
You can expect our residents to be a little under the weather next Monday; don’t be alarmed.
Fever and fatigue are common side effects of both vaccines.
There is no counter indication to administrate both vaccines at the same time.

Following the measures announced by the « Ministère de la Santé et des services sociaux », we inform you that the wearing of protective masks will no longer be mandatory.
People who have flu-like symptoms AND have tested negative for COVID-19 will, after a 5-day no-visit period (to ensure no other respiratory virus can be transmitted to our residents), will be required to wear the mask for the duration of their symptoms.
As for the lobby’s dining room, it will be possible for all to buy a meal to eat with their loved ones starting next Tuesday, April 11th. We need time to reconfigure the dining room and this cannot be conducted over the long weekend.
As of today, our staff will be happy to welcome you with their smile.
Although the outbreak on the 3rd floor is ending soon, we have had several cases spread throughout the facility. Considering this situation, again this year, we must maintain the application of infection control measures and require visitors to wear masks at all times.
This means that we cannot agree to the request of some families and allow parties at the Penthouse. Nor can we allow families to bring a meal and share it with our residents.
We are extremely sorry for the grief this may cause, but we must align our measures with public health recommendations, ministerial directives, and measures in place in the other C.H.S.L.D. in the territory of the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal.
Hoping that next year will see a more normal holiday season.
We remind everyone that if you experience symptoms of flu, cold, gastrointestinal problems, or COVID-19, you must stay home and not show up at the Château.

We tested the entire floor on Tuesday the 22nd and detected only 1 new case.
Currently, none of the affected residents have severe symptoms. Two of the residents have even completed their isolation period.
Today we detected 1 case on the 5th floor, but the vector of contamination has been identified. It was a visitor. There will therefore be no further measures deployed to the 5th if no other resident has symptoms.
We remind you of the importance of wearing the mask AT ALL TIMES, and that it must cover the mouth and the nose.

We currently have 2 cases of COVID-19 on the 3rd floor. Both residents are doing well, but since it is impossible to determine how the two residents contracted the virus, we will, in collaboration with the CIUSSS and the IBD team, screen all residents and employees on the 3rd floor.
While waiting for the results, we ask residents not to leave the 3rd and to wear a mask when they leave their rooms.
Visits are still allowed on the floor and even for affected residents, we will ask visitors in the latter cases to put on personal protective equipment.

In line with government guidelines, as of today, visitors can now have access to the common areas. A maximum of ten (10) people is permitted by the government but given the physical layout of the Château, we will have to limit it to two (2) visitors at the same time in the common areas and six (6) in the residents’ rooms.
Wearing a mask remains MANDATORY.
