Although autumn is coming and the weather is changing, on our side everything is stable. We are still negotiating the last part of the contract. The government’s latest offer did not allow us to operate properly, so we were forced to reject it.

This does not mean that the negotiations are over. On the contrary, we are still working very hard to reach an agreement that will benefit everyone, including our residents.

At this time, we prefer not to set a timetable. It is impossible for us to predict when this journey will end, but that does not shake our trust in our partners.

We will keep you updated with the latest news as soon as we have information.

We are pleased to present the results of the satisfaction survey conducted by the Château Westmount users’ committee.

You can click here to view the report (in French).

A big thank you from all our employees to everyone who took the time to answer the survey’s questions. We are in a continual improvement process and having the chance to receive an external opinion on how we do things is an invaluable opportunity for us.

We have taken note of the result and we will address the dissatisfactions in collaboration with the users’ committee in the coming weeks.

We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to visit the Facebook page of the Château Westmount users’ committee.

As part of the transformation process, we must reassess our service offering to ensure that it meets the Ministère de la Santé et des Services Sociaux (MSSS) requirements while respecting the budget allocated to us.

We can assure you that most services will not be affected. We will even have an increase in the nursing presence in the units.

However, regretfully, we must divest ourselves from our massage therapy service. Ethel our massage therapist will continue to offer the service within our establishment but on a private basis. These costs cannot be absorbed within the budget envelope that the MSSS will grant us.

We are aware that this change will cause some inconvenience and we apologize for that.

We would also like to reassure our residents that April 1st is still maintained as the C.H.S.L.D.’s official start date for Château Westmount as a private-contracted institution.

As part of this transition, our nurses will begin functional autonomy assessments of our residents during the month of February. This evaluation called an ISO-SMAF is necessary to register our clients in the public system.

The CIUSSS reiterated today that even if a person does not meet the ISO-SMAF minimal quote to be accommodated in C.H.S.L.D., no resident will be moved to another resource.

We will keep you posted as soon as we have more details.

We recently had 2 surprise evaluation visits. One of them was the visit to the “quality of the living environment” of the Ministry of Health and Social Services. We are proud to announce that we received a perfect score and that no recommendations were made by the visitor.

This demonstrates the professionalism and commitment of our care teams to provide a quality alternative living environment for our residents. You can read the report here (in French).

We also received a surprise visit from MAPAQ, which comes to assess the health risks to residents regarding food conservation and preparation.

Here too we are proud to announce the success of this evaluation and the very positive comments from the visitor. Congratulation to the entire food service team for their incredible efforts to offer our clientele a diverse menu and maintain the level of excellence in kitchen management and associated risks.

Congratulations to all our teams.

What could be more uplifting for morale than a little treat brought by a loved one? Our residents love to receive your cookies, cakes, muffins, and other dishes concocted by you, it reminds them of beautiful memories with you.

Unfortunately, since we have to disinfect all the parcels that our residents receive, we ask you to refrain from sending them prepared food from home.

If you would like to send them a treat, please send them a commercial package that has already been packed.

P.S. Please note that flowers are accepted.

Thank you for your understanding
