We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The last two prevalence screenings produced no new cases.
If this trend continues, we plan to end the isolation of the remaining residents who tested positive on December 26th and the remaining unaffected residents by December 29th. If no new cases are detected, we look forward to declaring the end of the outbreak before 2020 comes to a close.
Further tests are planned between now and December 29th. We will let you know. Despite this good news, we must understand that there is still an outbreak and that the virus puts our residents at risk.
We lost four precious people over the weekend. This brings the total number of deaths related to COVID-19 to fifteen. The effects of this scourge remain difficult to absorb. We express our condolences to the bereaved families and to those who lived with them and cared for them.
The latest wave may be cresting, but we cannot, and we will not let down our guard. Visits are prohibited until further notice. We recognize that this is difficult, especially during the holiday season, but extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. Please know that our residence family remains close to your loved ones.
We look forward to better times in 2021. Thank you for your understanding and for your patience.
