Qualified nurses providing impeccable care for our residents.
The nursing and assistance team includes:
Specialized clinicians providing top-quality medical care.
CHSLD Château Westmount has a group doctors on staff. They are present three days a week and can be reached by the nurses at any time following an assessment of needs.
One of the two doctors will be assigned to your file. Your doctor will conduct a complete examination within a week of your admission to assess your health and write prescriptions as necessary. A regular follow-up of your health will be carried out. The doctor will discuss with you your preferences regarding the “level of care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation” in order to ensure that your choices are respected, should a critical situation arise.
We also have a regular consultant:
A kinesiologist is a professional trained in maximizing function, autonomy, and physical well-being through the prescription of exercise in chronically symptomatic individuals. His activities are in line with CHSLD Château Westmount’s philosophy, which is focused on optimizing the quality of life for its residents.
Optimizing Independent Mobility and Risk Management:
In mobile individuals, an individualized fitness and strategic strengthening program can provide the resources needed to balance physical independence and safety.
Preservation of the Level of Mobility:
In residents whose current level of mobility is challenged due to progressive disease or decreased physical activity, an individualized fitness program may increase physical resources that, in turn, will contribute to preserving the desired level of independence.
Preservation of Essential Elements of Movement:
Certain elements of movement, such as range of motion, are necessary for quality nursing care delivery. Management of spasticity and prevention of muscle contractures are crucial to achieving proper hygiene and appearance, and to ensure the integrity of skin as well.
Recreation and Activities:
Our facilities were built with the above therapeutic interventions in mind, and these have top priority. However, they may also be used for leisure by residents who still have an active lifestyle.
Experienced Physical Therapy specialists ready to attend to resident needs.
